Forgiveness, rising up from the depths of the heart, is as necessary for cleansing the air we all breathe as the spring rains that nurture and serve Life. © 2016 Dennis Ference
I love this reminder that it’s the perseverance that counts – those small steps, the one foot in front of another; the feeling that what I’m doing is so small and appears to be so meaningless, so insignificant, when actually Perseverance says “Stand up, turn around and see where you have come from. Look at the distance travelled. See what you have already achieved.”
How encouraging! I’m good at those small steps, and I believe I’m courageous – but I sometimes lose sight of the goal and forget to turn around and check out my progress. So when I do look – it’s a wonderful boost to my confidence and an encouragement to my soul. An encouragement to keep going. Keep going for just one more day – because today is all I have to be concerned about. Tomorrow will take care of itself.
Keep going. Persevere for one more day.
So utterly tired
Worn out, worn down
Worried and fatigued.
Longing for relaxation, to lie beside still waters
Yearning to take off this bag that I carry which holds the stuff of life
And put it down for a time
To rest a while
Hoping rest will replace weariness,
calm replace concern,
peace replace turbulence;
That sleep will indeed knit the unraveled sleeve of all my care(s)
And I might know true rest.
My prayer that I might wake, my soul repaired
Renewed desire to reach out and touch the fabric of the day –
a gentle touch that greets the day
with gratitude and grace
rejuvenation of joy and strength
in peace, a soul refreshed
This is your invitation to stop what you are doing and take a moment to be. To be still. To quiet your thoughts. To breathe out. To listen.
If this is the only moment in your day when you are able to stop and take stock, then make the most of it. Just for a moment. Be still. Listen…
Then take a moment to be grateful for the good things in your life…
I wish you a peaceful day filled with gratitude 🙂
